Measuring Service

Measuring for a carpet needs to account for every nook and cranny. Our measuring services includes:

  • The Room: Measuring the widest and longest points of the room.
  • Recesses and Alcoves: We don't just measure the main room. If your room has bay windows, chimney breasts, or built-it wardrobes, we account for them.
  • Doorways and Joins: The carpet doesn't stop at the wall; we consider the walkways and if any plates are needed for a seamless room to room transition.
  • Stairs and Landings: If the project includes stairs, the math gets a bit more technical we measure for; Tread: The horizontal part you step on. Riser: The vertical part. The Wrap: we account for the carpet wrapping around the "nose" of the step. Landing: We treat this like a small room, considering the first step and entry of the room.

Uplift Service

Removing old carpet is a messy, back-breaking job that involves more than just pulling up fabric.

Between hidden sharp tack strips and decades of trapped allergens, it’s a task best left to the pros.

  • Uplift: Removing all old pins, tracks and underlay. Including any mess hidden beneath the old carpet. This can also be applicable to vinyl. We make this easy for you to just look forward to your new flooring being fitting without having to lift a finger!

For an additional cost to your carpet fitting we can prep the room for you by stripping up your old carpet(s) and making sure the room is ready for fitting.

Fitting Service

The Carpet Fitting Process includes:

  • Gripper Installation: Nailing or gluing "tack strips" (grippers) around the perimeter of the room to hold the carpet in tension.
  • Underlay Placement: Laying high-quality padding to provide thermal insulation and that "cloud-like" underfoot feel.
  • The Main Event: Rolling out the carpet, stretching it precisely using a "knee kicker," and trimming the edges for a seamless fit against the skirting boards.
  • Finishing: Installing door bars (thresholds) to transition cleanly between different rooms.

Vac & Skip Service

We offer a vaccing up and skipping service as a final steps to ensure the room is pristine and the you are happy.

  • Vac: New carpets shed a surprising amount of loose fibers, known as "pilling" or "shedding," especially if it's a wool or deep-pile carpet. Again, the clean up can be offered for an additional cost.
  • Skip: After the carpet is stretched and tucked, you'll be left with long strips of excess carpet and various small scraps. So we can remove these and skip offsite for an additional cost.
